4 Movie Reviews for Unknown (2011)

  1. Roger says:

I was really excited to see Unkown seeing how Neeson did a good job in Taken (minus the other actors). This movie seemed a lot like Taken in terms of suspense and I anticipated it to be pretty good, until I saw it! Frankly, the story started somewhat good and the setting is pretty cool. Cinematography is really good but just as you expect something awesome to happen – it doesn’t! They keep dragging out scenes about his half-conscious memory flashes that goes on for far too long. Sure, it starts off very suspicious but somewhere half way through any dummy can figure out what’s really going on. Unknown truly fell short of my expectations and I must say hit the new low for Neeson who did such superb jobs in previous films – especially Schindler’s List. Wow, I’ve ranted a lot now (even though I’m not a film critic I sure felt like getting my honest opinion out about this movie in case some of you wish to watch it.) Honestly, skip Unknown and see Super 8.

  2. Paul says:

I am a big fan of Liam Neeson. I always expect him to perform exceptionally well. I have to agree with Roger on this one. Parts of it were really good, but then the flashbacks became expected and disappointing. I wanted to love it, but I didn’t. I guess in this one, one great actor is not enough to carry the movie off.

  3. MetalBlessing says:

I also must agree that while this movie was not terrible I was a bit disappointed when I saw it. Liam Neeson is a superb actor in general and this was the reason my wife and I went to see it. The movie did have an interesting twist but ultimately seemed to fizzle. This is not one of Liam Neeson’s best, but if you really like Liam Neeson it it will not hurt you to see it.

  4. Sol says:

An ok suspense film that fails to really deliver. It does have a bit of a Bourne feel to it, but not nearly the interest or quality. Liam Neeson is quickly becoming an overrated actor. His skills are sub par and portrays the same personality in his latest films. There is some intrigue and entertainment in “Unknown,” but overall it’s just an average film.
